This is depressing stuff…
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is rejecting the chance to join virtually any team he wants bar maybe Barcelona, to instead sign for Chinese Super League’s Tianjin Quanjian for £71m.
Not only are the Chinese paying that transfer fee, but they’re also shelling out £26m/year wages, making the Gabonese the highest paid footballer on the planet in the process.
Aged 28, he’s about to spend his peak years in the footballing wilderness.

Keita wants Premier League move… But not to Liverpool…
Aubameyang stated on his Instagram that he’s ready for a ‘new adventure’ and the Metro are claiming that despite the player being open to a Liverpool switch, Jurgen Klopp is happy with his forward options.
This baffles us, as if Liverpool were ready to spend £70m on 12-cap centre-back Virgil van Dijk, surely a similar amount on a striker with over 80 goals in two seasons is a no-brainer.
Still, the player has the right to move wherever he wants and if he wants to secure himself financially, as well as the next generations of family down the line, that’s his prerogative.
It’s just a shame such an exceptional talent will be strutting his stuff in a very mediocre league.
