This is one that just doesn’t make an awful lot of sense to us…
Our top scorer last season was Coutinho with 14 goals, so many Liverpool fans thought a pacy striker who could bag at least 20 Premier League goals a season would be a summer priority.
But, alas, it’s not – with Jurgen Klopp happy to stick with 11-goal Roberto Firmino as his no.1 option, with 7-goal Daniel Sturridge backing him up.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang though has been made very much available, with Borussia Dortmund offering him to Chelsea for £70m.
Chelsea offered chance to buy Aubameyang for £70m. Also in talks with AC Milan. Has offers from China. Window there closes Friday

Liverpool are ready to spend £70m on Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk and Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita (both of who are not openly available), but have no interest in the Gabonese striker – who’s plundered over 80 goals in his past two seasons.
Aubameyang is, without a doubt, world-class – and in many ways it’s frustrating to watch a player of that ilk actually for sale and Liverpool not wanting to get involved.
Last term, every top-7 side had a 20-goal Premier League striker – the type who could score a winning goal from one chance when it seemingly wasn’t going well.
But we understand that when Klopp’s attack is functioning, it’s less predictable and more dynamic than our rivals’ – so as fans – we should trust his judgement, especially now Mo Salah has joined.
