Emre Can’s latest quotes suggest he’s probably leaving LFC

Emre Can scored a brilliant goal for Germany this weekend just gone, but with Liverpool fans hoping he’ll do the same against Manchester United on Saturday, the player himself is thinking about other clubs.

The 23-year-old claimed he’s flattered by Juventus’s interest, while claiming he’s focussing on ‘the season with Liverpool,’ which suggests to us it might be his last with us.

Can told ESPN: “It’s always an honour to receive an offer from such a renowned club, but currently I am only focused on the season with Liverpool. My agent takes care of the rest.

“The Premier League is just a really cool league, the most interesting in the world, but you must always respect other big clubs and leagues.”

Can went on to hint that a move to Bayern move might be possible, too, speculating that his manager Jurgen Klopp may also switch to the Bundesliga giants!

“You never know what will happen [in regards to a Bayern transfer]. And I don’t know what Jurgen Klopp plans.”

It’s a big issue for Liverpool that we’re going to probably lose Can on a free, considering his market value would be very high if he had years on his contract.

However, we already have Naby Keita arriving next summer, so in many ways, we have an upgrade on the German anyway.

In future, it’ll be vital to tie down our best players to long-term contracts, like we did with Coutinho, which protects us against the Bosman rule.
