Liverpool fans have urged Jurgen Klopp to make changes to his midfield for Sunday’s clash with Tottenham at Wembley.
A number of Reds are inevitably keen to see James Milner retain his place in the starting lineup after starring in Tuesday’s 7-0 Champions League win over NK Maribor.
The 31-year-old thrived in the absence of Jordan Henderson, who was being rested after busy couple of weeks on international duty with England.
Whilst some fans are keen to see Milner keep his place at the expense of the skipper, others are more open to the idea of dropping either Emre Can or Georginio Wijnaldum.
The latter’s tendency to disappear in away fixtures has served as the foundation of arguments for benching the Dutchman.
In truth, it seems likely Klopp will put his faith in a familiar midfield trio of Henderson, Can and Wijnaldum in aid of ensuring a somewhat proven understanding against a strong Tottenham team.
The return of Henderson to the starting lineup has also been welcomed by some supporters, on the basis of his form compared to his inconsistent midfield partners so far this season.
Here’s what Reds have had to say on the matter…
BIG Test for Klopp as they face in form Spurs away from home. Personally, I would go #geggeressing with Milner, Wijnaldum & Henderson #LFC

I don’t think Klopp drops him, but I’d like to see Milner in for Gini today. I rate him and I think he’s undervalued but Milly earned it.

I would start the same 3 up front, Milner out for hendo & the back 4 remains the same #LFC

Actually hope Hendo plays well today. Just wish Klopp plays him as an 8. Him and Milner would run the Spurs midfield into the ground.

The clamour for Milner today start is understandable but misguided. Henderson will be fired up and provide additional energy.
