Coutinho and Dejan Lovren are unavailable for tonight’s Champions League clash with Maribor.
Yesterday lunchtime, manager Jurgen Klopp said that if the pair got through the evening training session, they’d be considered for selection – but neither stepped out at Melwood – according to James Pearce.
As a result, Ragnar Klavan will likely continue alongside Joel Matip, with Trent Alexander-Arnold allowing Joe Gomez a rest at right-back.

Coutinho was exceptional in the reverse fixture two weeks ago, which Liverpool won 7-0, so we have to hope our attack can cope without him.
Klopp could either pick Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a direct replacement on the left, or use Roberto Firmino there and field Daniel Sturridge centrally – as he did at the weekend.
Either way, Liverpool should have way too much for the Slovenians, especially with Mo Salah on the right.
The Egyptian has already scored nine goals in all competitions for us this term and will be looking to add to that tally tonight.
