Juventus implement sly trick to lure Emre Can from Liverpool

Juventus are set to pull out every trick in the book to try and secure the signing of Liverpool’s Emre Can at the end of the season.

The midfielder’s current deal at Anfield is set to expire next summer, with negotiations between club and player having broken down.

With Can set to let his contract run out, Juventus have been keeping tabs on the possibility of landing the German on a bargain free transfer.

The Italian giants have asked Can’s fellow countryman Sami Khedira to convince the 23-year-old to join him in Serie A, according to the Mirror.

Talks regarding an extension have been ongoing between Can and Liverpool since the turn of the year, with wage disputes having emerged as an initial issue.

The latest disagreement surrounds Liverpool’s refusal to insert the release clause the former Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen man is demanding.

Can has emerged as prominent figure in Jurgen Klopp’s side over the past year and established himself as a key component to the manager’s reign on Merseyside.

Losing him at all, let alone on a free, would be a crushing blow and one that would undoubtedly force the Reds into the market for a player of a similar mould.

Who knows? Perhaps a successful season may see Can experience a change of heart.
