Liverpool fans have praised Roberto Firmino for another typically unrelenting performance in Saturday’s 5-1 win over Brighton.
The Brazilian was in inspired form at the tip of the Reds’ attacking trio, setting the tone early with his familiar high-intensity pressing from the front.
Firmino launched a terrific response to ever-present doubts over his goal-scoring prowess as he bagged a clinical brace.
His first came courtesy of a stunning counterattack when he finished off Philippe Coutinho’s driven cross from close range after Mohamed Salah’s bursting run.
The Egyptian was involved in Firmino’s second as he fed the run of the No.9, who finished emphatically to make it 3-0.
With it still only December, Firmino’s tally of 11 goals for the season is an impressive one and a promising platform for him to build on over the next few months.
