Multiple reports, such as this one in the Daily Star, are suggesting Fabio Capello has put Liverpool’s former Brazilian target Alex Teixeira on his Jiangsu Suning transfer list.
Reds will remember January 2016, when we made aggressive attempts to sign the former Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker – but were priced out by the newly rich Chinese – who snared Teixeira’s signature at the start of February for a giant fee.
For Teixeira, he had to leave after cutting ties with Shakhtar, but it was Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool he wanted.
Now, despite 30 goals in 71 appearances, Jiangsu Suning want to cash in on their star player.
Liverpool though are unlikely to be interested, having signed Sadio Mane and Mo Salah since missing out on the attacker.
At the time, we were gutted not to snare Teixeira, but while his stock has fallen in the Far East, we’ve watched our two Africans develop into world-class operators.
