Real Madrid are keen on Jurgen Klopp, but our German is not keen on them.

This is according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who was discussing Los Blancos’s chances of replacing Zinedine Zidane at the end of the season, and with whom.

Real Madrid are struggling in La Liga and will not beat Barcelona to the title, although they are in contention for their third consecutive Champions League triumph having beaten PSG in the Last 16 first-round…

How Zidane can actually be under pressure is mindboggling, but regardless of his future, Klopp won’t be the man to step into his shoes.

“Jurgen Klopp has even been mentioned,” Balague told Sky Sports.

“Klopp will stay at Liverpool though because he’s somebody that wants to stay for seven years at Anfield as we read in the Raphael Honigstein book.

“That means Real will have to look elsewhere.

“Everybody in Spain is mentioning Mauricio Pochettino but I keep saying it just doesn’t make sense.

“He’s taking Tottenham into a new stadium and a new era.”

From a selfish point of view, we’d like the excellent Pochettino to head to Spain, which would significantly weaken our big rivals Spurs, who are undeniably a threat in the coming seasons for the reasons Balague mentions.

If Poch leaves, Harry Kane may follow, and despite their stadium move, Spurs could fall out of contention.
