Liverpool fans all got quite excited the other day, when Borussia Dortmund’s brilliant attacker Marco Reus copied Roberto Firmino’s goal celebration!
The German has returned from injury after a very lengthy lay-off and has been excellent for the Bundesliga giants, Jurgen Klopp’s former team, of course.
He’s been linked to Liverpool in every transfer window since 2014, as this article in the Independent proves!
But it’s our rivals Tottenham who could now lead the chase, interestingly.
The Mirror report that Reus is stalling on a contract extension and that Mauricio Pochettino is a huge admirer of the 28-year-old.
Reus is a brilliant footballer, but we’d suggest that in terms of a potential Liverpool transfer, his ship has sailed.
Firstly, he’ll be 29 by the time he could be a red, and his injury record is abominable. FSG and Klopp never spend big money on that kind of player and when we already have the best front-three in world football, Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, our funds will be better spent elsewhere.
