Abdoulaye Doucouré has recently told the world just how much he’d like to play for Liverpool one day.
We’ve been spuriously linked with the Frenchman in the press, and Watford’s powerhouse fancies the idea quite a lot.

Premier League powerhouse reveals ‘dream’ to play for Liverpool
“Liverpool is a club that needs no introduction,” Doucoure told Canal Plus, translated in the Watford Observer. “I was impatient to play at Anfield, I wanted to feel the atmosphere.
“For me it would be a dream to play for a club like this.”
He’s enjoying a good season and along with Richarlison, has been one of Watford’s best players.
But is he good enough to actively improve our midfield next season?
Not all Liverpool fans are convinced, actually, with heights clearly being set a little higher than the 25-year-old.
He’s rangy, athletic and comfortable on the ball, but we’d suggest Doucoure is not necessarily any better than Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Emre Can, Adam Lallana or James Milner – and especially not the incoming Naby Keita.
Keita’s transfer should benefit us hugely, but he already possesses dynamism and dribbling attributes in abundance.
Liverpool have more need for a deep-lying playmaker – someone who can play in Jordan Henderson’s position when the captain us unfit or out of form.
Doucoure doesn’t fit this bill…
He’s a big meh. He doesn’t foul much and doesn’t get dispossessed but he doesn’t pass that well, he isn’t gonna move the play forward. Need players better than this at a club like Liverpool imo. pic.twitter.com/Uk1jRBfL6e

Either him or Ndidi would be great. Ndidi would offer more defensively but Doucoure would bring more in possession.

Tbh i think I’d rather have him than n’didi. Think he’s immense runs box to box great energy can tackle can score goals from deep. I’d take him 100%

if Doucoure wants to join the Reds, we should grant him his wish. he’ll slot into midfield nicely.

Ndidi- Similar to Doucoure however Doucoure better with possession Ndidi better defensively, perfect cdm for us, if we can get him for under £40m would be a class signing. pic.twitter.com/rRIEhzmnex
