Liverpool set to sign Chelsea midfielder – ESPN

Last year, we stole Dominic Solanke from Chelsea’s fabled youth system and this summer we’re set to take another of their gems.

Isaac Christie-Davies is expected to join on a free transfer after not renewing his deal at Stamford Bridge, according to a report from ESPN.

They claim the 20-year-old impressed at a trial earlier this season and Liverpool will now offer him a professional contract.

Christie-Davies has been with Chelsea since a young age after initially developing at Brighton and has represented England at youth level.

He performs best as a central midfielder although has also done a job on the left.

Liverpool’s U23 side were walking Premier League 2 at the beginning of the season, but a number of loan exits significantly weakened us and we ended up calling up a load of U18s to cover for the likes of Harry Wilson, Marko Grujic and Rhian Brewster [injured].

We can’t imagine Christie-Davies will be an immediate first-team option, but if he works hard enough, he may earn himself an opportunity under Jurgen Klopp.

19-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnod for example is about to start in a Champions League Final and has been selected as part of England’s World Cup squad.
