Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas insists Nabil Fekir will remain at the club if there has still been no progress over a deal before the end of July.
Fekir continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool after seeing his £53million deal collapse in the eleventh hour at the beginning of June.
Personal terms had been agreed between the two parties and Fekir himself even conducted interviews with the official club website in preparation for his unveiling.
Concerns raised in his medical over a knee injury dating back to 2015 resulted in Liverpool withdrawing from negotiations on the following day.
It has since been suggested Liverpool would look to revive talks when Fekir returned home from the World Cup with winners France.
Nonetheless, Aulas appears confident that his side’s talisman will be staying put this summer.
He told Canal Football Club: “I do not think that Fekir will leave. He’s one of the best in France – and in the world, since he’s a world champion. He’s a Lyonais, so he’ll be there next season.”
“Although in football, nothing is ever certain. I haven’t had the impression that he absolutely wants to leave. He’s 90% going to be at Lyon next season. If he hasn’t left by the end of July, he’ll stay.”
He added: “It’s not the size of the offer that will make us change our position on Fekir, but the wishes of Nabil himself.”

Both Aulas and Fekir’s agent have been publicly provocative over Liverpool’s strong chances of resurrecting a deal if the they wanted to.
Aulas in particular has somewhat defied his reputation as a tough negotiator by opening the door for Fekir to leave for Anfield if the right offer is made.
It appears the ball is in Liverpool’s court in regards to whether or not the club will look to restructure a deal in response to fears over his fitness.
The pervasive feeling on Merseyside, however, is that Jurgen Klopp made the last of his high-profile summer signings with the capture of Alisson from Roma.
