Nabil Fekir bumps into Liverpool fan; drops intriguing transfer hint
France24 journalist Jean Sebastien is very confident of this idea, for one.
And plenty of Liverpool fans are peddling the same rhetoric, more out of hope than any insider knowledge, we might add.
But still, it makes sense. Fekir had his heart set on an Anfield switch and for it to be taken away from him at the last minute must have been gut wrenching.
Jurgen Klopp obviously admires the playmaker and hasn’t targeted an alternative in his position as of yet.
So if Lyon agree to a lower price, or at least a restructuring of payment terms that protects Liverpool if Fekir’s knee causes long-term problems, there seems no obvious reason why a deal can’t be done.
Fekir is the key, of course. If he kicks up a fuss and is no longer a tenable Lyon captain, the French club’s hand will be forced.
There’s two weeks left of the window for the deal to get done, anyway.
