Sadio Mane couldn’t resist the opportunity to tease Idrissa Gueye after Liverpool snatched a win in the 96th minute of an extraordinary Merseyside derby.
An impressive Everton performance went unrewarded late on when Jordan Pickford’s calamitous error invited Divock Origi to nod home the winner.
Mane proceeded to grab the ball amid the celebrations before running to Senegal teammate Gueye and seemingly inviting his side to kick off in search of an equaliser.
This came after the midfielder had bizarrely tried to waste time by taking longer than necessary to leave the field for treatment on an injury. Mane attempted to speed up the process by grabbing the physio’s bag, only for Gueye to shrug his fellow countryman aside.
Origi took full advantage of the added time created by the delay. Cue bedlam. Cue mayhem.

Even Everton supporters will have likely been tearing their hair out over Gueye’s decision to stall their best performance against Liverpool in recent memory.
The Toffees remain without a win at Anfield since 1999 and are still looking for their first derby victory since 2010’s 2-0 win at Goodison Park.
