Naby Keita has revealed that he turned down the chance to join Bayern Munich before agreeing to sign for Liverpool from RB Leipzig.
The number eight has been inconsistent in a red shirt this season, but over the last couple of weeks has really found his feet and begun to look more settled.
In the Champions League, hosting Bayern on Tuesday gives him another opportunity to shine, against a club that he should know inside out.

Speaking to German media prior to the tie, Keita outlined why he chose to come to England instead of joining Bayern, as many players in the Bundesliga would have done.
Keita told SportBILD: “Of course, it’s great when a club like FC Bayern [shows interest], but my way has shown that there are other good options in European football.
“I live my dream with Liverpool FC. It is a sensational team in which I am allowed to play. I moved to Liverpool to win the title.”
We love that his ambition is to win the title with the Reds – if he continues his upward trajectory, he will play a huge role in trying to achieve that at the first time of asking.
We’re sure he’s as excited as all of us are at the huge matches to come in the next few weeks.
