Former Everton and Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard has kept an eye on the Premier League title race this season and has had his say on who he wants to be crowned champions.
Liverpool are, of course, bitter enemies for any fan or player of the Blues and Red Devils – and the former United States’ stalwart is no different. “I hope Liverpool never win a title while I’m still breathing,” he told CNN.
“We have two teams in the form that they’re both in. It’ll come down to the wire. If no one has a slip up, then City wins.”
Howard spent a decade at Everton and it really shows here. He sounds like a life-long Bluenose – saying he’d rather die first than see the Reds lift a trophy we’ve (technically) already won eight times during his life.
The stopper made 414 appearances for the Blues during his time on Merseyside and – erm – scored one goal.
Liverpool are potentially two games away from being crowned Premier League champions. We’ll need some help from former manager Brendan Rodgers though as his Leicester side are next up for City.
A draw is all it would take for Liverpool if we see out our last two games of the season, and, while Howard would be fuming on the other side of the world, he’d be the last thing on our minds.
