Legendary Brazilian full back Dani Alves has been backed to join Liverpool after finishing up his contract with Ligue 1 winners PSG.
He spent two seasons in the French capital, and won domestic titles in both years, but he’ll now be considering his options with Manchester City and United interested – as per the Express.
Former Red Devil Kleberson has backed Alves to join Liverpool ahead of either of the Manchester clubs. “I wanted to get Dani Alves to join me in the MLS. He’s a phenomenal player with amazing quality,” he’s quoted as saying by Goal.
“I feel maybe could fit in well at Liverpool, and Klopp would like him as a style of player. He’s very technical, fast and has an incredible temperament in the big games. He’s a winner.”
The signing of Alves has Manchester United written all over it, in my opinion; he’s over the hill and his likely wage demands would make him one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League.
The Reds aren’t likely to change their recruitment style just to bring in a big name – the days of Mario Balotelli are over. Alves would be a great addition to the squad, no doubt, and the young full backs could learn a lot from him.
But Liverpool simply aren’t going to sign him – and I’ll die on this hill.
