Marco Reus is a name that Reds fans are very familiar with.
Whether there was ever genuine interest from Liverpool in him over the years – or whether it was just a simple link to make for a believable transfer gossip piece – Reus and Anfield have been appearing in the same sentences for the majority of his career.
The winger, formerly of Borussia Monchengladbach, absolutely loves Jurgen Klopp, who signed him for Dortmund back in 2012. He’s always made that clear, and did so again recently when prompted in an interview.
Reus told DAZN, via the Metro: “Oh my god, Jurgen was such an animal! If Jurgen sits in front of you with his aura, which he radiates even when speaking, with his stature, it’s really quite impressive.
“He brings you under his spell and will not let you go. My heart was racing after we first spoke. He was definitely one of the reasons why I signed for Dortmund. Jurgen can develop players and make them better. He has a special way about him.”

It’s clear that even four years after he departed Dortmund, Klopp is still very fondly remembered.
30-year-old Reus also said that he believes he made the right decision not to move to Anfield, or to Bayern Munich, who were also interested in a few different transfer windows, opting to stay loyal to the Signal Iduna Park side.
Reus added: “I have no regrets about staying. I belong at Borussia Dortmund.”
