Sadio Mane turned in a man of the match display as Liverpool earned an important three points away at Southampton.
Mane opened the scoring in magnificent fashion at the end of a first half which the hosts had shaded, hammering the ball past a helpless Gunn just inside the area.
He then turned provider for Roberto Firmino’s ultimately decisive second, capitalising on a Saints error.
Plenty of Reds took to social media to rave about the forward’s starring display.
Mane has more Premier League goals in 2019 than anybody else, having found another level – much to his side’s benefit.
Very, very few players can claim to have performed better during this calendar year.
Here’s a selection of the purring reactions:
Thought for 45 minutes that would be a game to trip Liverpool up. They had excuses, but they had a game-changer in Sadio Mane. Brilliant goal, brilliant assist, and instrumental in another very good win for #LFC

A brilliant performance from Sadio Mane. A world class finish to open the scoring and a tidy assist to Firmino for the 2nd. Continues his scoring run from the Super cup + highest PL goalscorer in 2019 with 15 goals. 🇸🇳 👑 pic.twitter.com/RCz9WUOCq7

Let’s not let Sadio being the best player in the world take away from the fact that he keeps stealing Bobby’s celebrations

"Sadio Mané might well be having the best 2019 of any footballer on the planet. That goal he scores from nothing is spectacular." 🇸🇳 #LFC
