A host of Liverpool fans have expressed their excitement at the news of the club’s ‘ambitious’ plans to extend the Anfield Road stand.
There’s a possibility that the project, replacing an earlier, smaller scheme, could see the Anfield capacity surpass the 60,000 mark.
That means greater ticket availability, and also an improvement on an already peerless atmosphere.
For supporters, there’s also a symbolically significance.
A selection of their reactions can be seen below.
It’s important to stress that, right now, the plans are in their nascent stages, but this nonetheless remains a key step toward resolving what’s been a long-standing issue.
FSG Out though…
This is great news for the club. Can't wait to see Anfield get bigger and even better.#LFC https://t.co/gdpkSEDkyX

Indeed. The club for some quarters have came in for some undue criticism in the delay in Anfield Road expansion. But you can see now why’s that’s the case. Previously plan for less seats was lacking ambition compared to this rethink. https://t.co/V6LA695cNi

Redeveloping the Anfield Road end, bolstering sponsorship deals, buying youth sustainably, selling at or above market value.
I’ll be sad if Klopp leaves in 2 years, but he’ll be leaving us as a fully rebuilt European force.
