Saif Rubie is not the kind of man who should be looking after the fortunes of Liverpool’s Academy strikers, in the opinion of Empire of the Kop.
Bobby Duncan’s agent, a PR man who has just made the worst PR decision of his entire career, has a history of blatant homophobia, sexism, racism and even more shockingly – sex offender apologising.
He has even tweeted support for Adam Johnson, although all of this has been deleted and we’re relying on screenshots to document his character.
If you open the tweets below, you’ll see multiple screenshots of Rubie displaying his views on women, homosexuality and mental health.
Sentences include:
‘Are you gay as well as a nobody?’
‘I’m homophobic in the same way that I am arachnophobic. I have nothing against gays or spiders but I wouldn’t want to see one in the bath’
And in response to a woman stating that sex offenders should be banned from football:
‘Unless they’re gay convicted sex offenders how is he a danger to his teammates? Guy has served his time, let him be.’
Rubie has now deleted his Twitter account, and the club has issued a firm denial of his original claims, which accused Liverpool of bullying the youngster.
“Liverpool Football Club is aware and disappointed by the unattributed comments and unfounded allegations that have been made in the media regarding one of our players,” the statement said, as quoted by the Mirror.
We’re still waiting for Rubie’s official response, but his online history will likely stop whatever he has to say having much impact.
