Oxlade-Chamberlain & Fabinho among the 17 LFC players called up for international duty

We are now enduring the international break – which means we have to put up with not being able to watch Liverpool for a fortnight.

However, there are seventeen of Jurgen Klopp’s first team players that have been called up for international duty so it’s not all bad.

That being said, let’s hope none of them pick up any injuries!

The most notable call-up is that of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It’ll be his first bit of England action since being ruled out of the World Cup last year.

The Ox will join Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez in the Three Lions’ squad.

Fabinho has also been reunited with the Brazil squad, after being left out of the Canaries’ Copa America set up over the summer. ‘O Monstro’ will link up with Bobby Firmino.

Andy Robertson – captain of Scotland – has also been called up for international duty as the Scots host Russia and Divock Origi’s Belgium.

Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum are set to represent the Netherlands, after their heartbreak over the summer in the Nations League final against Portugal.

Dejan Lovren has also been called up for Croatia.

Youngsters Rhian Brewster, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Caoimhin Kelleher, Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg will all represent their respective countries’ youth teams too.
