Liverpool fans have been reacting to title rivals Manchester City remarkably dropping points away at newly-promoted Norwich.
The heroic Canaries were deserving winners against the reigning champions, who turned in one of their most disjointed performances in recent memory.
It is of course very, early days, but City have already dropped more than a third of the points they missed out on last season.
Perhaps more significantly, Pep Guardiola’s side looked very vulnerable defensively in the absence of their best defender Aymeric Laporte, out for another five or six months.
It’s a result which will give great encouragement to the teams who would otherwise approach the fixture with little belief.
Here’s what a selection of Reds had to say…
That result is much more significant than this individual game in isolation. It should send a message out to the rest of the league that City, sans Laporte, can very much be got at.

Get in! A huge performance from Norwich, that's what can happen when you come at City.
Particularly with Otamendi in for a long spell, teams need to realise that to some extent they're there for the taking

Long, long way to go, and City can go on a big winning run. But to be 5 points ahead after 5 games is *insane*. City had to rely on Kompany + Laporte last season, and now they have neither. The rest of them cannot defend. Some weeks that won't matter; but some weeks it will

Incredible what can happen when you have a go at Man City.

They took it to City, has to be said. A solid template for success

Heroic from Norwich. Significant result given how few points will be dropped at the top of the table. Laporte's absence looks like it's going to be a significant issue.

So the way to beat Man City is to have an injury crisis. Hope Jurgen was taking notes https://t.co/Q3U06PtUM2

Me when I see Norwich have beaten Man City and now 5 points clear but there’s 33 games left in the PL. pic.twitter.com/GLRl6u2RhZ

So Norwich beat City and Liverpool beat Norwich, does that make us the best team in the league?
No, these do pic.twitter.com/yc62LKekLy

City have dropped points early in the season
Liverpool may drop points later in the season
That will not mean we have “bottled” a 5 point lead, it will simply mean that we dropped points at a different stage of the season
