Liverpool are lining up a move for young Polish goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek after the 15-year-old impressed the Champions League winners on a trial.
If the youngster joins the Reds, when he turns 16, he’ll be the third Polish goalkeeper at the club – joining Kamil Grabara and Jakub Ojrzynski at Anfield.
The claim has been made by Sportowe Fakty (via Sport Witness), but the same information has been relayed on Mrozek’s club’s Facebook Page.
The same report claims that Liverpool officials will travel to Poland next week to iron out some details – FIFA’s rules don’t allow clubs to sign players under the age of 16, and so the Reds will have to come to an agreement with SMS Junior Wrocław.
The idea is believed to be that Mrozek will remain at Wrocław for another year, before joining Liverpool once he’s 16-year-old.
The goalkeeper will join Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott as the next generation of players that Jurgen Klopp is seemingly keen on getting in place early.
As per the same report, Wrocław U18s’ goalkeeping coach, Miłosz Gładoch, has confirmed that Mrozek had a successful trial with Liverpool and club officials are flying in to meet with the teenager’s family next week.
