Former Tottenham, Arsenal and England defender Sol Campbell says Reds right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has a big future ahead of him as he praised his performances early on this season.
Alexander-Arnold was named by Campbell as being the best right-back in the league this month and he says he enjoys watching him play.
Speaking on Sky Sports News, via HITC, Campbell said: “Such a young lad in the game. He’s got a fantastic future ahead. He’s scoring goals as well. He’s doing everything and he’s enjoying it at the same time.
“When you look at the stats and also how he’s played, he has character.”
There is no doubt that the 20-year-old has a huge future ahead of him in the game. To have achieved so much already in his career is a great grounding, but now he has to kick on even more.
It would be a surprise to no one if Alexander-Arnold became the Reds captain after Jordan Henderson leaves, while he will no doubt want to help end the wait for a league title.
Alexander-Arnold is likely to be in the starting XI this afternoon as the Reds face Sheffield United in the Premier League.
