Virgil van Dijk is basically the only thing the internet is talking about, despite his team being 3-1 up at half-time and playing beautifully.
That’s how good the Dutchman is.
The goal we conceded wasn’t his fault, it was Jordan Henderson’s. The midfielder gave the ball away centrally and Hwang Hee Chan was sent into the box.
Expertly, the forward sat van Dijk down and blasted past Adrian.
In all honesty, it’s the first time we’ve seen it happen since van Dijk signed for Liverpool – so perhaps it is newsworthy!
But the fact Twitter has gone berserk with hyperbole, lies, propaganda and everything in between for what was simply a nice piece of player from Hee Chan to score with van Dijk trying to defend him says it all.
His standards are higher than any central defender in the history of the game has had to deal with – and he still meets them!
