Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson were trying to out do one another last season by way of number of assists.
The young Scouser has made reference to this once again, after setting up Robbo for a rare goal and his first in the Champions League.
The Scot started the play, but an exquisite low ball by Trent put it on a plate for the left back who made no mistake from close range.
Salzburg got themselves right back among it to level the score line, before Mo Salah ended the affair to make it 4-3 to the Reds.
Even though Trent put in a good performance, it’s his social media game that was on point after the Champions League clash.
The young defender joked that if Robbo is scoring the goal then he can’t notch up more assists than him! It’s just another example of this team and how well they all get on.
Robbo can’t get an assist if he’s scoring 🤔😂 #CleverTrent pic.twitter.com/jJLiiXy2nY

Andy seemed to enjoy Trent’s comment as he responded to his team-mate a few hours later. Gini Wijnaldum got himself involved too.

It’s kind of weird being able to see the players interacting this way, but it’s a sign of the times and likely puts a smile on most fans’ faces.
