Liverpool are seemingly the Grim Reaper of our rivals’ managers in recent years, as we have now been the last straw for the Blues to give Marco Silva the boot.
Last season, a 3-1 defeat to the Reds was enough for Manchester United to call time on Jose Mourinho’s reign at Old Trafford.

A few seasons back, Andre Villas Boas was sent packing after a defeat to us as well – I mean a 5-0 loss at home is just unacceptable when the manager has had time to implement his ideas.
It does seem a little odd that a loss to a strong Liverpool side is the straw that breaks the camels back for seemingly a few clubs.
I suppose, especially in the case of Everton and United, the manager is losing a Derby – a result like that can taint a whole season.
Per example, if the Reds were to get smashed 3-0 by the Blues, but then go on to win the League Cup – the Evertonians wouldn’t let us enjoy that one!
For the Mancs, I suppose they were going through a transitional period last season – as were we – but they were going in the wrong direction, and a big loss to Liverpool would sting after we had years of no real success.
