With a busy summer expected in the midfield of our squad, Liverpool have been linked with yet another option but this time a player in the Premier League that many of our supporters may well already be aware of.
Writing about Joao Palhinha, Sami Mokbel reported for The Mail: ‘Liverpool are understood to be the most serious suitor but there are others. He was signed for £20million, but sources claim that Fulham now value Palhinha closer to treble that amount’.
The 27-year-old hasn’t been in England for a full year yet and is a player we could have signed on a cheaper deal last summer but we’d now have to pay a much inflated fee in order to complete a transfer, something that’s very similar to our reported interested in Matheus Nunes.

With 28 appearances in all competitions this season, the Portuguese midfielder has operated in a holding role for Fulham but also has the capability of filling in as a central defender in times of need.
His four goals and 10 yellow cards in this campaign show that we’re not signing a player that is used to getting himself on the scoresheet and may we provide competition to the likes of Fabinho and Stefan Bajcetic, should a deal be completed.
With many eyes on our possible capture of Jude Bellingham for a fee that is expected to be well over £100 million, then we will need to complete a few more affordable deals to replace the likes of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arthur Melo and James Milner – who could all depart this summer.
Whether £60 million is too much, if we want to bring in several new players on top of the 19-year-old from Borussia Dortmund, time will tell but Jurgen Klopp will be eager to purchase players who have proven experience in our league and could be purchased on a relatively affordable deal.
With months to go until the window opens though, the list of reported targets will only get bigger.
