A new name that has been linked with a move to Liverpool is Boca Juniors midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez and Alexis Mac Allister has already explained what the dynamic midfielder would bring to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that the 21-year-old ‘tremendously stimulates the imagination of’ the Anfield outfit as well as also catching the eye of other clubs in Europe such as AC Milan and Benfica.
Fernandez is often deployed in a deep-lying midfield position – a role which our new No. 10 has been operating in since his move to L4 from Brighton in the summer.
Ideally, however, the World Cup winner would like to be deployed in a slightly more advanced midfield role and his compatriot could therefore be on our radar in January or next summer.
“If you ask me a little more about my style, there’s one player I like a lot and that’s Equi Fernandez,” Mac Allister told TyC Sports while he was still a Brighton player back in March (via Rousing The Kop). “He’s a player who has all the conditions to get to Europe one day and hopefully it can be given to him.
“He’s a player I like a lot, he understands the game a lot. He’s always ready to receive the ball, he plays with both feet, he can play as a five, as a midfielder.
“He’s a player who has very good conditions and, if Brighton ask me, I would say his name.”

Fernandez is a player that not many Liverpool supporters will have heard of.
The Argentina youth international has featured 39 times for Boca Juniors this term (across all competitions) and has registered two assists in the process.
He’s tasked with breaking up play in the middle of the park which allows the attacking players ahead of him to flourish with less defensive responsibilities.
Wataru Endo may have been signed in the summer but the Japan international is yet to fully settle on Merseyside and we wouldn’t be surprised if a defensive midfielder was targeted by Klopp and Co. in the summer.
It’s clear that Mac Allister is a huge fan of Fernandez and we’re sure he’ll be in the ears of Liverpool’s scouting team.
