Mo Salah has claimed that he and his Liverpool teammates can take great encouragement from their ‘good start’ to the campaign.

The Reds have suffered just one defeat so far this term – the controversial 2-1 defeat to Spurs last month – and currently find themselves fourth in the table, three points adrift of top spot.

Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to pick up any silverware last season and also missed out on Champions League qualification – something our No. 11 will be eager to put right this time around.

“It’s a good start,” Salah told Liverpoolfc.com (via Liverpool Echo). “We all had a good start, not just myself – from other players as well. As a team, we are doing good and we try to win the games, which is the most important thing.

“It’s really good because it’s really important to start the season well, so you can keep fighting for everything. If you’re struggling you just need to keep fighting just to get the rhythm and the momentum. But when you start the season well, you just have a good vision and it makes everything easier during the season.”

The Egyptian King netted three goals and assisted a further two during September which resulted in him picking up the club’s player of the month award.

“It’s a good feeling to help the team to win games, which is the important thing,” Salah added. “Overall, everything is fine. We are happy with the results we had in this month. That’s the important thing.

“Every award you win with the supporters you feel the love and support they give you. It’s something I am happy about.”

The 31-year-old has carried on his fine form this month also, netting a brace against Brighton a fortnight ago and doing the same again during Saturday’s Merseyside derby clash with Everton at Anfield.

Let’s hope the ex-Roma man can keep up his fine form to help ensure this season is much better than the last one!
