Confirmed Liverpool line-up v Wolves: Alisson returns for the Reds but no Nunez in the squad

Liverpool will be aiming for a fourth successive win in all competitions this evening when they take on Wolves at Molineux in the Premier League.

The home side begin the day bottom of the table and saw their plans scuppered by an outbreak of illness within Gary O’Neil’s squad.

For Arne Slot’s visitors, there’s the added incentive of ending the night in first place if they can claim all three points, having earlier seen Manchester City held to a draw at Newcastle.

Liverpool starting line-up v Wolves

The big team news from a Liverpool perspective is the return of Alisson Becker in goal after he missed the last two matches with injury.

Elsewhere, many of those who started the Carabao Cup win against West Ham in midweek revert to the bench, with a fully-changed back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

The usual midfield trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai all return to the starting line-up, while Slot has pored through his abundance of riches in attack to start with Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

In terms of the substitutes’ bench, Darwin Nunez is a notable omission, with Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo among those dropping out of the starting XI from Wednesday night.
